One of the premier wine regions in the world, Napa Valley is in Napa County, California. With vine growing history dating back to the late 1800s, Napa Valley has grown in leaps and bounds, although Phylloxera and the Prohibition set it back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Robert Mondavi could be credited with reviving the region in the 1960s with the opening of his own winery, after leaving his father's Charles Krug winery.
